I know there is a lot of football to play still, but just think how awesome this playoff would be to watch:
1) Ohio St. v 16) Oklahoma
2) Michigan v 15) LSU
3) Texas v 14) USC
4) Notre Dame v 13) Arkansas
5) California v 12) Wisconsin
6) Florida v 11) Louisville
7) Rutgers v 10) West Virginia
8) Boise St. v 9) Auburn

Single elimination until two teams are left to play for the true national championship. Any comments or predictions?

I like that but i think the bracket would have to be tweaked with the following. Conference champions get seeded 1-6, if Notre Dame is ranked #1 at the time of seeding they get the one seed withe the conference champions getting seeds 2-7. After conference champions then it goes to the polls with the remaining teams getting seeded in order of ranking in the polls.

I definitely like that idea. It will eliminate the press just picking teams on the basis of politics.
The two left standing to play for the championship will most likely be:
OHIO St, and TEXAS. They have the depth.

I think you should put #'2, 4, 6, 8 in the bottom bracket. The way it is makes the bottom a little weak.

Good system, but its never gonna happen
The NCAA would never allow this cuz all their crappy bowl games would be eliminated

i'd like a setup like that, but the stupid BCS has to be thrown away in order for it to happen.
