No. Just make one browser your default. I use both the browsers simultaneously. For sites I know and trust, like yahoo mail etc., I use IE, for sites I don't know and is suspicious about, I use Firefox (with high security and javascript off). Works fine with me.

Mozilla firefox has a tendancy to be going against Internet Explorer. I would keep Internet Explorer and get rid of firefox. It does not agree with many other programmes. I had it for a while and it caused many problems.

Don't remove Internet Explorer, its closely tied up with Windows Explorer and you'll have problems later.
Just set Firefox as your default browser. Go to Control Panel - Add & Remove programs and tick the 'set defaults' tab. Tick Firefox as your default browser and save the changes.

You're just seeing Internet Explorer moaning as its not the default browser any more. Just tell it not to check any more and get on enjoying Firefox! You absolutely definitely don't need to removed Internet Explorer though.

No. Actually, I don't think you can. That's Microsoft for you. They're trying to discourage you from using a competitor's browser. But some things won't work with Firefox (Yahoo Games, for instance, although I haven't tried it a while)

You can't remove IE. It's part of the operating system. But you can switch to haveing Firefox become your defualt browser.
And way to go.. good for you to switch to firefox. Way better that IE for almost every way.
