It's unbelievably high! Are You kidding? Child support isn't about money! You opened Your legs, You chose him, could You possibly admit to Yourself that You had children with someone who would not actually take care of them!? That sounds like a problem to me. It is a problem across this entire country, we make these choices and allow the courts to repair our mistakes. How weak and pathetic. Ask him what the child support rate is and You might be surprised, he may just want to share everything, all expenses and the children too. imagine, this guy has kids and they might matter to him. DUH!

Indiana has a calculator on their Indiana.gov website. See if your state has the same. It usually depends on both parties' income, not just the payor. I get 79.00 a week for two boys here in IN. Their Dad makes about 35,000 a year and I make about 22,000 and we have joint custody. In IN the man also gets a credit for however many overnight visits a year he is getting. Look for a calculator online for your state or county.
