These things are learned from fears you learned as a child or experiences throughout life..when we mature we like differences some never mature...
If pain was involved like u got beat up by a gang of mexicans say..then you may have some discomfort from being around a certain race.
I was taunted by blacks most my life inside I think blacks are pretty cool and real popular in are culture unfortunately the run ins have had with them through the years well yes its still difficult to feel acceptance from blacks; maturity gets you through it.
I have overcome my fears by ignoring my fears and by being friendly.
Have even dated outside my race.
In a work enviorment?..your learning how to get along with others from the start of a job. So this lack of comfort?. Will not be there or shouldnt because you are learning how to get along with others at work also. Living and Learning
Yes enjoy diversity
In conclusion the past can hurt us but we need to mature and get through the pain of what others did to us.(And past societies)..we learn to tolerate others by attending school and work.
Unfortunately ..years and years ago we also learned toleration in church this as you know church every Sunday well has dwindled radically some lucky if hear truth once year or simply dont care or dont believe.(Remember it is believing even in the unseen).. I learned how to love the crippled girl and the only boy child who was spoiled and lonely. The only black girl in my white neighborhood(taunting was from city kids) and the poor girl who lived in one room shack. Church teaches you to even respect authority like praying for are leaders and respecting decisions even when we disagree praying for the whole as well most dont pray either but complain about everything. A middle eastern man I told just recently it is wrong!! for us to complain!!! god does not like a complainer..he said How do u know? I said its in the Bible..I said were not suppose to worry about what we will eat or drink either or the clothes we wear or shelter. As God cares for even the sparrow he will care for us. He disagreed, unfortunately ; all cultures dont agree to just get along and get by...that we are all different. Religious separations can separate also..its all about living and learning and loving. Sorry So Long ..Yes Diversity and accepting it are learned and hopefully we learn to all accept what differences we have and realize we must accept and love each other to survive. Most important forget about the past that lie behind us.
