Close fitting, tight weave = very efficient at sealing in body warmth. Don't let the word "thermal" make you think it's some kind of weird science project.

actuly the thermal underwear is some kind of under wear that seal the heat(with insulation) and do not let air goes through
but some other knid (i dont think they call it thermal underwear) is personal cooling system that u can have it for hot days it will cool u
us army soldiers use theme under their armor

No matter the weave of the fabric, holes must be Incorporated into the design either because the fabric itself has many holes (wool) which many 'natural' products have, or if they are in the design (those that look like they are full of dents).
If the fabric can then let moisture out (sweat) all the better.
Get an "A".
