i am looking for some good recipes for thanksgivung, my mother passedaway which always did dinner, and now i am doing it.....not the best cook, and there will be a lot of children, any ideas?

bake your turkey very slowly or use a cooking bag they do a fair job, keep the rest of the dinner traditional & simple since you're new at this, lots of mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies both raw & cooked, pickles, olives, bread/rolls and pie.

Hey, I'm kind of in the same boat (a little) because my grandmother use to do all the cooking but now she's a Jehovah's Witness and they don't celebrate holiday's... so she's not cooking. But sorry to hear about you mom. Now, I'm a very good cook and since you have a lot of kids coming you can't go wrong with mac and cheese or broccoli and cheese (one or the other, could be too much cheese).

some great ideas i thought might be good would be mac and cheese (there are some really nice homemade recipes online.

salade is alwasys good (fruit, cobb, etc)

pigs in a blanket are also very fun for kids to eat.i remmeber thats all my little brother would eat for a while

Homemade chicken & noodles. You can find easy recipes for egg noodles in most cookbooks; I use Betty Crocker's recipe. Then, just put them in a chicken stock. They're a tradition in my family; everyone loves them!

Be sure to make real macoroni & cheese. I use velveta loaf cheese and bake topped w/breadcrumbs. Kids also like crecent rolls. peperoni olives pickles. You can use ragu cheese & elbows add some slices of velv. bake at 350 for about 45 min
