Is Kelly Holmes gay?

And before u say why does it matter if sum1 is gay or not, im struggling with sexuality issues and its just nice to have female role models who i can look up to who are gay, i already think kelly is brilliant anyway wether she is gay or not

This is what Kelly said in an interview in g3 magazine (a lesbian magazine). I don't know what her orientation is but she is a good role model either way.

Anyone can be your role-model not just someone famous. If you try to live your life in a good way perhaps you could become somebody else's role model - how cool would that be?

I am sure if you look hard in the mirror you will find someone brilliant as a role model!

Kelly Holmes is now touring schools promoting sport. For example, last week she was a Broomhill Bank special school. This is part of a drive to encourage more sport in schools. She is also helped with the London olympic bid and she is now still helping with that. I think she mainly tours schools though

the answer is, accept that you're brilliant yourself whether or not you're gay.

and if you're not brilliant, you're human, nobody is perfect. don't give yourself a hard time chuk, just be like kelly holmes and do your best at what you do best. if you want to look up to great sportswomen, consider martina navratilova and amelie mauresmo, they are both into women and are fantastic tennis players.

She's not out, but there have been lots of rumours that she's gay.

Doesn't matter though. You can look up to her as a successful, determined, hard-working and dedicated woman, regardless of her sexual orientation.

(And if you fancy her a bit, no harm in that either.)
