The difference between the highest and lowest value in a set of data.
For Example:

2, 4, 7, 10, 12, 13
The lowest value is 2 and the highest is 13 - so 13-2= 11 so the range is 11

If you are talking about the Mathematical term, Range means that in a set of numbers, you put them in order, and then you subtract the smallest number from the the largest number to get the range of the set of numbers.
i.e.,

Numbers in order: 1,5,8,9,13,22,50

You take away the smallest number (1) from the largest number (50) so the sum would be 50-1=49
