The statistical mode is the number that occurs most frequently in a set of numbers.
To find the mode of a group of numbers:
- Arrange the numbers in order by size.
- Determine the number of instances of each numerical value.
- The numerical value that has the most instances is the mode.
- There may be more than one mode when two or more numbers have an equal number of instances and this is also the maximum instances
- A mode does not exist if no number has more than one instance.
Example: The mode of 2, 4, 5, 5, 5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 12 is 5.

The mode of a data sample is the element that occurs most often in the collection. For example, the mode of the sample [1, 3, 6, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 12, 12, 17] is 6.
The arithmetic mean is the "standard" average, often simply called the "mean".
The mean may often be confused with the median or mode. The mean is the arithmetic average of a set of values, or distribution; however, for skewed distributions, the mean is not necessarily the same as the middle value (median), or most likely (mode). For example, mean income is skewed upwards by a small number of people with very large incomes, so that the majority have an income lower than the mean. By contrast, the median income is the level at which half the population is below and half is above. The mode income is the most likely income, and favors the larger number of people with lower incomes. The median or mode are often more intuitive measures of such data.
That said, many skewed distributions are best described by their mean - such as the Exponential and Poisson distributions.
An amusing example
Most people have an above-average number of legs. The mean number of legs is going to be less than 2, because there are amputees with one leg or no legs, but no people with more than two legs. Since most people have two legs, they have an above-average number.

If you mean the Mathematical term, Mode means the number that occurs the most often.
i.e.,
Numbers: 7,3,3,6,8,4,6,2,3,3,7,3,9.
In this example, the Mode would be 3 because it occurs the most times - 5 in total.
p.s., If you want to find out what these mean without having to wait on Yahoo! Answers and wasting valuable points, you can go onto Wikepedia Encyclopedia and type what you need in there and it should tell you all you need!

The mode just means the one that occurs the most often - so for example if you had a list of numbers:
1, 4, 7, 4, 3, 4, 9, 4, 2, 4
There are 5 number 4s there, so the mode is 4.

Mode means the MOST common value in a set of data.
For Example, 2, 3, 2, 5, 6, 5, 2, 2, 2,10, 5, 3
In this set of data there are the most 2's - it is the MOst common value - this is the MOde

mean - arithmetic mean or average: add up all the numbers and divide by the number of numbers. e.g. mean of 3, 6 and 9 is 18/3 = 6
mode - the most frequently occurring e.g. 2,2,3,3,3,4,5,5,6 mode would be 3 as there are more of them than the others
median - the number in the middle of the sequence when rearranged into numerical order e.g. 5,3,4,7,2,1,8 median would be 4.
