The best thing I have found, overall, is Simple Green. It is essentially non-toxic and can be mixed to different concentrations as you like. It is good for most surfaces.

However, if you want to have a truly shining surface such as chrome or glass, go for white vinegar. Some people like to mix it 1/2 and 1/2 w/water. I prefer full strength. I use it, then, just like Windex, and polish to a shine.

One last thing I have used is full-strengh isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). It is a great shining product, and can be purchased in a minty scent if the regular scent is unpleasant. Best of luck!

Get that new Mr. Clean cleaning pad. It works great and is not too expensive and lasts forever.
