We are trying to get this damn bolt off. It started off as an 11/16th bolt. But we slowly stripped it attempting to get it off. The flywheel has broken and left a middle ring with the bolts. We got 5 of the 6 bolts off and cannot get the last one. Are there any ideas in getting a stripped bolt off from a tight area? There is probably 1 1/2 in of space to work!

There are wrenches designed especially for getting rounded off bolts out. Check at your local automotive parts store. Tell them what you need.
If they do not have it you will have to find a tool supply company that specializes in indurstrial tools and supplies.

First put the other bolts back in and torque them, this takes some pressure off of that one. Use a 6 pt socket on tight bolts or at least a box wrench. If it is rounded off, a good brand of lock jaw pliers may get the job done or a chisel and hammer used to rotate to get it lose. Since the flywheel is junk now you could even chisel the head off but don't damage the end of the crankshaft.

If you can fit a nut extractor socket in the space, it may work, these can be obtained at Sears, or Matco tools, etc http://www.matcotools.com . You are dealing with very little space though. It is probably going to come down to removing the transmission to get at the bolt. Then you will have more options, such as cutting off the head and extracting the remaining portion, drilling and tapping, or welding another nut to the head of the stripped bolt to remove it. it sounds like you don`t have access to a muffler gun, so try it this way. Get a very sharp hardend chisel and try to chisel a corner of the going counterclockwise. this may shock the bolt into
loosing up. If not, then chisel the head of the bolt off. with the flywheel off, there well be nothing pulling on the threads , If you can picture it to keep the threads from turning in the crankshaft.
you will also have something to grab with vice-grip plyers.
