People are not terrified of communism today or anything else!!!!!!!!The McCarthy era is over a long time ago!!

I guess you have not been alive for the last 50 years usually if you want to try a system you look for one that was a success somewhere, if you can find a strict communist nation that is a success I would like to know.

Because communism has a long tradition of killing millions of their own citizens, er I mean subjects. It does not respect the basic human rights we all enjoy in democratic nations.
Is that good enough reason?

It is because communist ideals are coming to the US. The Liberals won all over the country and basically run the US now. The Liberals are incredibly left-wing, which means that they are socialists. One example is Nancy Pelosi, the California Liberal who was elected because of her stance on gay rights, and no other issue. She is incredibly communist and it mades me so mad thatshe is now speaker of the house. Luckily, she will never become President of this great country, which is being ruined by the anti-American Liberals.

McCarthy had the right enemy but the wrong approach.
Communism is dreaded by the US because it will destroy the Constitution, destroy liberties, and destroy the economy.
