No, what's happened is that the version you have - 7.1. - will no longer be in action but do not fret!! There's a new version for you to download and it's free - version 7.5!! Enjoy!!

Get it from here http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

If you are using the free version, my understanding is that the free version will no longer be free by the end of this year or sooner. You will have to pay for AVG.

Here is an excellent replacement that I use in two computers an I have never had one virus in over nine years.

http://www.avast.com Avast is out of Prague, Excellent state of the art technology. As one of the very best background scanners that will find a virus in real time and destroy before the virus can enter you system. Updates two or three times per day automatic.

Their free version is the same as their corporate, they just make corporate pay.

They will ask you for your email address so they can send you a free key that is good for one year. After the one year you just request a new key.

AVG will still be free, you only need to upgrade to 7.5. Do you know that AVG anti-spyware is also free. The resident shield only works for 30 days, but after that you still have a free anti-spyware scanner.

NO, they are simply upgrading to a newer release, the download is already available, or, you can wait like others, and it will be downloaded auto.
