I guess Duran Duran was a better and innovative Popidol in the 80´s than any other artists today. Do you ever think so ?

I don't like Pop idols. Couple of nice guys (or not, look at Robbie Williams) and the rest is massive marketing.
When I was a child in the 80's I used to like Duran Duran though.

Duran Duran by far, they could write songs and play instruments, and not wallow in an 80mil pound contract of self pity. Yes Robbie is the fat poof from Take That.

hi people, I agree Duran Duran was far more creative than Williams in the 80s. but they also lost their popularity slowly though.

By the way, what about Motörhead, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Deep Purple ? They all were much louder and better players than the sweet guys Duran Duran.

I love Motörhead, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Maiden and Purple.

I liked tears for fears better but robbie is a great showman and if it wasn't for Durans videos the music videos would have taken longer to get going. So i will agree with you Duran for their sheer brilliance at getting pop going again after the punk n new wave days

Duran Duran paved the way for the MTV pop stars with their extraordinary videos. Robbie owes a lot to them, although I do like both Duran and Robbie and have both their Greatest Hits albums on CD.

Robbie Williams is better by far. Even if you dont like him , you have to admit he is a great songwriter. Listen to the words from his song "Me and My Monkey" its great.
Thats my opinion anyway .

i would say Duran Duran
Robbie Williams might be successful at his career but he is not at his private one. Duran Duran managed to succeed at both. That's what I call real success!!!
