Arms manufacturers and the Oil industry...just like are current White house had planned all along...as long as the mid east is in a constant fight the prices of Oil always remain volatile...in the end the poor die and the rich thrive.

The beneficiaries are Arab leaders like Hamas, and former Palestinian leader Arafat. By constantly keeping their population as victims it is a lot easier to stay in power, because if you do have peace then you will have to do the difficult things like educating your people providing opportunities for a better life , it is much easier to provide a external scapegoat so the masses won't blame you for their condition.

I guess the real question is, why do the Palastineans refuse to make peace, and what do they gain by it?
Israel has made their efforts. They've turned Gaza over to the Palastineans as part of a program to give them their own homeland.
The Palastineans in turn have elected a terrorist organization Hamas as their official government. They do not recognize Israel's right to exist. Furthermore they've used Gaza to shoot rockets into Israel and launch raids.
The Israelis have been trying to give peace a chance and give the Palastineans their own homeland.
So who benefits by keeping the Palastineans from settling down and living in peace side-by-side with the Israelis?
