if you go to the VAIO website and follow the link for driver downloads, it will then ask you for your laptop serial number and direct you to the downloads appropriate for your model

Ok, frist find out if the laptop has a soundcard by going to the control pannel and selecting sound card. It will say what the model is. Then go to the manufacturer's web site and find the driver that is right for the sound card. If that doesn't work, go to Sony's website and they will have a way to look up your sound card and download the driver there.

so you have a sound card, but not its driver?
Why don't you ask windows to detect the driver for you?
you can do this:
My computer on your desktop mouse right click
click manage
Device manager
then sound controlls click on that plus sign
you might see the name of your sound card
highlight, mouse right click again
update driver?
try it might work

You need to contact either the laptop builder or the "everything i need to support my music" builder.
