Every time I had sore throat, mom always make hot tea with two lemon slice but if it is severe she use fresh ginger slice with my tea.Lunch and dinner she would make warm barley drink and asked me to eat more oranges.Still I feel it's best for you to see a doctor and get proper medical attention.
The drinks that I have suggested is just a way to ease the pain of your sore throat.Or else you can apply my suggestion as your diet until your sore throat is fully cured.Again it's best if you don't smoke because it may worsen your condition.
Hope my suggestion can help and hope you will recover from your sore throat soon.Take care!!!

Lemsip as it contains vitamin C and paracetomol and it is hot. Also you could take hot drinks with honey in them. Lockets and Halls work well for some people. If it's very painful, it is most likely infected and needs an antibiotic to clear it. Gargling with disprin is good for the pain too. Just be sure not to gargle with it and take the lemsip within a few hours, as they are both medicated. hope you feel better soon.

The meta physical answer from Louise Hay would be that throat problems can be as a result of an inability to speak up for yourself, swallowed anger, stifled creativity and / or a refusal to change. Has anything fitting these descriptions been happening in your life?

I agree with the lemon juice or honey in real tea (not the stuff you get in tea bags...the real tea leaves).
Be wary of most of that over-the-counter stuff you can pick up at the store. Most of it doesn't work, and can actually cause more problems than you started with. I also wouldn't use Listerine, as it is a mouthful of chemicals.
Like the previous answerer stated, try to stick to the old-fashioned methods...they really knew what they were doing. : )

gargle with warm salty water, repeat about every hour. Also green tea with lemon/honey. I usually also eat 1 teaspoon of honey every 2 hours.

Chloraseptic throat spray and drinking peppermint tea with a little honey. Cough syrup DM helps too, it will help a cough and soothe your throat when you swallow it.
