You'll never see a fat kid or a fat adult,
why is this since 60% of Americans adults are overweight or obese and 1 out of 5 children are overweight.--if not more as they grow older...
By the looks of it, half the teens are overweight or obese.

Yes but their customers, especially children ARE many times very fat.
And yes, you do see overweight people in other ads.
I actually DO see them in car commercials and make-up ads (queen latifa) and my clothing magazines. What you are saying is untrue. I've seen other restaurant commercials with overweight people in it having a jolly ol' time,
But you will NEVER EVER see an overweight or obese kid in a mcdonald's commercial.
...I think it's guilty conscience on the part of the fast food chain, bad PR.

Because they are selling an image here. No one wants to see some fat slob or some fat kid. They don't want to admit that they are just adding to the obesity problem with their food and not helping.

It's how they or any other fast food franchise run their marketing. They want to expel a positive image and even though statistics show that many Americans are overweight, the idea of being overweight is negative and wouldn't be beneficial to McDonald's, as unfair as it might sound. They just want to earn money. Also, an interesting thing to think about, you don't see fat people in 24 Hour Fitness ads! But I see alot of them at my gym so... it's just the marketing. Nothing to get all huffed up about.

One reason there's no fat people is because the commericals are filmed in a fake McDonald's. I happen to wander into one, they are closed to the public. Like I said before McDonald's is not in the business of providing good food to eat, they are in business to make money. I can remember back in junior college I was taking business classes and the manager of McDonald's came to talk to us. One student asked why don't you put tomatoes on your hamburgers? The ans. was that it would cost them half a cent more !!!

People don't want to be reminded what McDonald's food can do to their body. The people that make these ads know that if they show a woman with big hips and a huge stomach ordering a big mac with extra cheese and a Super Size fry that it will turn the consumer off.

Because people do not want to see fat people. Same reason 60% of Americans are overweight and only 5% of actresses are, 0% of models (unless modeling plus sized clothes) are, etc.

BECAUSE THEY WANT TO ADVERTISE "GOOD FOOD" AND NOT ADVERTISE THE FOOD THAT MAKES YOU FAT OR OVERWEIGHT...THEY KNOW THAT IF THEY ADVERTISE OVERWEIGHT OR OBESE PEOPLE ON THEIR COMMERCIALS THAT THEY WOULD NOT DO AS GOOD AS A FAST FOOD CHAIN..THEY WILL DEFINETLY LOSE A LOT OF MONEY FOR THAT

because of the fact it does not help with merchandising. To them, it could be like they are saying, "whats up, come on dow to Mc Donalds the place the foodstuff tastes solid, even though it could make you obese! You ould get extreme blood stress, or perhaps a blood clot. positioned a grin ON!" ok that grew to become into over the right yet you seize my flow.

there are no fat people on a McDonald's commercial because it will look like that person might go there all the time and McDonald's dose have fattening food (but its not like they will tell you their food is fattening!)

It's know as the "Art of Deception". They don't want the public to know that their food is fattening so they only use skinny or average people in their commercials.
