It warms my heart to see any loving couple holding hands or kissing in public. Love is not something to be ashamed of, it's the most beautiful thing in the world.
I feel sorry for the haters who don't want to see gays or lesbians holding hands in public. They don't understand love at all if they find holding hands to be sexual or disgusting. Why do they see things this way? A mother holds her child's hand and it's obviously not sexual, why do the haters find a couple holding hands to be sexual?
I don't say I'm sorry for the haters in a patronizing way, I'm really, truly sad that they are a part of humanity that will live their lives not knowing what love is.
Love is all we have in this world that makes it bright and beautiful rather than too much to bear.

It's great. I see it all the time here (Toronto, Canada).
For those who don't like it, remember that not everybody is fond of seeing straights holding hands, kissing, etc. in public. I was on the subway the other day and I saw a straight couple massaging each other's tonsils. Not everybody is interested in witnessing that expression of passion -- but for some, it is a non-issue. So, what's wrong with gays holding hands?

I think it's sweet. Straight people hold hands in public places all the time because they care about each other and want to keep a physical closeness. Gays and lesbians have the same emotional needs with their partners. Love is love, no matter what a person's gender.

I see it very rarely unless it is in so called 'safe' areas. Even then it is not often. It's a shame that we are in 2006 and people still can't show who they love in public without fear of reprisals, bigotry and hatred. I remember once almost dying of shock when I saw two gay men holding hands in Birmingham (UK) city centre on a random saturday afternoon, as it was such an unusual sight. They were both about 6'5" tall though and extremely muscular and looked like they would have been more than equipped to handle any trouble they encountered. Good for them, it's a shame you don't see it more often.

I think it's great. If I have to look at public displays of affection between straight people it's only fair to be able to do the same with my partner. After all, the world is not just for straight people, it's for all people.

HEY, what if they are friends? I have many friends whose hands I hold-sides I grab, etc... But, yeah, I don't mind it if they are gay or straight. It is a sign of affection and is very innocent at the least.

My partner and I do it often as we walk around town, and we think it's pretty natural.
On the rare instances that we get disapproving looks or taunts, we ignore them.
We aren't about to hide our love just so some homophobe we don't even know can feel comfortable with his bigotry.

Equal rights for all. Who cares if someone is gay, or lesbian. Or straight? Love is love. I would rather see people in love than see people at war. :)
