Extreme flirting-like talking about personal things and some sexual things with another person...one whom you will never come into contact with...such as online...is this what is considered "cyber sex"?

The fact that you are questioning your own behavior, tends to make me think that you already believe it is wrong to do this. My best recommendation would be to stop. If it is not something you can openly discuss with your b/f and you feel the need to hide it, then it is deceptive and will be damaging to your relationship.

Thats not an easy question to answer...

Cyber-Sex itself can have many defiintions from just talking about it, to talking about DOING it (most often "acting it out" with the other person) or even just fetishes...

Normally, like in real life, a little flirting is ok as long as you aren't leading someone along with false hopes...

However, I'm not very encouraged by your use of the word "extreme"... also that your asking yourself if your crossing the line here. Do you FEEL your crossing the line? You realize if you are cheating your hurting both yourself and your partner...

Aside from that, what really is on trial here is your partners view of what crossing the line is, you might want to ask them what they are comfortable with you doing with other people... then you wouldn't have to ask here!...

Just my two cents, but I hope it helps.
Cheating is qualified by an act of dishonesty, not any physical act in and of itself. If you feel you're being dishonest, then yes it qualifies, but if not, then no.
Cyber sex is more interactive then just talking about all things sexual. It's a lot like phone sex, both parties are engaged in mutual fantasy for sexual gratification.
I was involved in the swingers lifestyle w/ my last GF and so, I kinda have a different view of cheating than many, but through my own experiences, it always boiled down to the lying and deception that was truly painful and not the physical act of sex as we weer both engaged in sex w/ others.

Best of luck.

to some it is, but to others it is not.

In my opinion, it is not.

extreem flirting and cyber sex (role playing the acts of fore play and sex) are ok in my mind, because they stoke the flames. that pressure can be released with more than exelant results on ones spouse, but be sure that your spouse/lover either knows or never finds out.

I know that to me it would be a turn on to know that my gf was "Playing" online, so long as it stayed online and didn't end up in a hotel room, or worse, our bed, unless we were having a planned 3some or full swap, and that would take a lot of talk and reasurances first.

Life is for living not just dreaming, take a chance and try to dance!

Cyber sex is different... you are not in contact with the person and you could be whoever you wanna be. Face-to-face, if you talk dirty between 2 people, that would be flirting.

i think it is cheating..cheating means "being sexually unfaithful" even though it may be CYBER sex, there is still some type of sexual connection between you and the other person. so don't do it =] they also might be some weird 79 year old man..ewwww!

Umm... I've never thought of it that way before. I guess it is. If you have a BF in real life, do not do this. And if you do not have a BF in real life, do not do this. It's wrong altogether, and any way you look at it, I mean, you met the guy online.
