Melanie C., the popular singer, has a lot going for her: a good voice; physical fitness; and worth a bob or two. The only thing wrong with her is she's from Liverpool, and as such has an annoying accent.

My question is, should she drop the accent, and adopt another region of the the UK as her home (along with its accent). Which accent would suit her best?

If she's happy enough to keep her accent, then why should she change it? Some people may find it a bit difficult to understand, therefore I doubt she would get offered many TV or radio presenting jobs. But she seems much more interested in her music anyway, it certainly hasn't held her back any with that. :-)

Scouse accents variety based which area of the city or surrounding area a individual comes from. The worst of all is from Kirkby or Birkenhead. I talk with a reasonably gentle Scouse accessory yet when I even have been away for a whilst I virtually desire to kiss the 1st one to declare "Ullo der!"

I totally disagree with you on the "good voice" thing, the girl cannot sing a note. I don't think she should drop her accent it's part of her.

I don't see why she should change who she is. She is who she is and there is no reason on this earth why she should change it (And I am from Luton, not Liverpool.)
