I had a hysterectomy back in July and I know there is still healing going on. I am a surgical asst. so I understand the anatomy and procedure and limitations, but I still have a question. I'm 34, in good health, reason for surgery was uncontrollable bleeding and endometriosis, and pelvic pain. My husband has a large penis and I continue to have painful intercourse. Is it possible that the cervical cuff can not accomidate his size, or is it just part of the healing process?

Although I concur with my colleague, Doc8, that it is entirely possible for you to have remaining endometrial implants, I would disagree that your complaint pattern is suggestive of endometriosis pain.
In a hysterectomy, the uterus, including the cervix, is removed. The upper edge of the vaginal cuff which remains is sewn shut in a "purse-string" fashion. There is necessarily some loss of length within the canal because of tissue removal and the suture line involving even more tissue.
The vagina is normally a highly compliant organ, which can stretch by length or diameter without much resistance. However, after a hysterectomy, the former location of the uterus above the vaginal pouch is occupied by a raw space which fills with fibrous scar. Scar tissue has a series of phases it goes through and for many many months, it is NOT compliant. During the maturation phase of this scar tissue, I could easily envision that the normal compliance of your vagina has changed. Now, there is significant resistance to stretch.
This is, of course, a guess. However, the time period over which scar tissue matures and softens is well in excess of a year. If my guess is wrong, then you'll know in about 6 to 12 more months when the problem still hasn't gone away.
In the mean time, I would humbly suggest that you appeal to the basic principle of country doctoring: If it hurts, DON'T DO IT! :)
I hope that helps.

Having had that done earlier this year, and being a doctor, I can agree with the above answers. I had excessive granulation tissue at the vaginal cuff, which caused bleeding, but not pain, with intercourse, and had to go back and back to get chemical cautery until it healed.
You might already be aware that if you had your ovaries out, the drop in estrogen will change the vaginal walls in such a way as to require more exogenous lubrication (or foreplay!).
If I were in your shoes (and I was in similar ones not too long ago), I would make an appointment, go back in, and with more thorough description of the pain, and a pelvic exam, the diagnosis will probably not be difficult to determine.

You target is slightly huge, in that you don't state what your pursuits are. If all you wish is to be rich, there are a quantity of methods to move, however that may not always make you comfortable, and now not being comfortable with what you do might intrude along with your potential to do good in that discipline. Medicine is customarily a beneficial discipline, specially as a general practitioner, however you can have got to move to Med School upon getting your four-12 months tuition measure. Law may be a cash-maker, specially in NY, however there may be additional education after undergrad. Finance may also be extremely-paid, however proper now that's a discipline that's taking a huge hit, even though in four or five years that might difference. Real Estate perhaps a well path to take. Some of the wealthiest New Yorkers are in RE Development. Maybe learn all of Donald Trump's books and get an inspiration for those who might like that discipline. If so, a tuition measure isn't truthfully required to be positive, even though Trump might mainly disagree with me on that. Finally, do not forget that the great method to be ready not to fear approximately cash is not to overspend, now not simply to make up to viable. I might advocate that you simply sit down down for a couple of mins, suppose approximately your values and the matters that fairly make you comfortable, and make certain that anything cash you spend is being spent in that course. Otherwise you'll get stuck within the entice of simply shopping stuff which finally makes you unsatisfied.

Healing or endometrial implants not removed by surgery. They occur everywhere. I have seen them in the rectal mucosa and one implant in an eyelid.
