The metric system is all based on multiples of 10, so:
centi = 1/100
milli = 1/1000
kilo = 1000
So a centimeter = a meter divided by 100
a millimeter = a meter divided by 1000
a kilometer = a meter times 1000
A meter - a measure of length, a little longer than a yard (a yard is 3 feet)
A gram - a measure of weight, about 30 grams in an ounce (16 ounces in a pound)
A liter - a measure of volume, a little more than a quart
Look on a gallon of milk - it says 3.78 liters, which equals 4 quarts.
A kilogram, or 1000 grams, equals 2.2 pounds.
A kilometer, or 1000 meters, equals 0.6 miles.

1 mililiter equals 1/1000 liters because the prefix mili is 1/1000. The opposite of mili would be kilo and thats 1000, not 1/1000

One one-thousandth. 1/1000
There are lots of conversion tables on the net. And remember, metric is easy because everything is a factor or 10.
