Anyone else kinda sad about his death? Its a shame. His life was definitely cut short. He made great R&B music.

It is extremely sad...However, heart attacks and heart disease are the #1 killer of black men in America! I am certain his weight would have played a part in this happening to him at such a young. As a matter of fact, he was about to do a reality show to lose weight along with 12 of his biggest fans.
Instead of the industry encouraging him to lose weight, his image has had this "teddy bear" theme to it for yearsssss! So much so, that he wore this necklace with a diamond studded bear etc.
Only point I'm trying to press is, this could have been prevented and we ALL have to take better care of our bodies in an age where food preparation and vegetation is NOT what it once was. It is not CUTE to be overweight and unhealthy. These Fat chance shows are making people lose focus of the health facts and turn it into a cosmetic issue, when that is not the main goal.
I loved his music and his family will be in my prayers; especially his 4 children who have lost their Father...

Definitely a shock. He was only 40. When my dad called to tell me, I asked him if he meant Eddie Levert, not Gerald. Don't get me wrong, I don't wish death on Eddie Levert. It just didn't register that it was Gerald. He was so young, and his father is living a long, full life. Very tragic.

According to the news, he had just returned from a great trip in Africa, where they treated him like royalty. So we all should be glad the last thing in his life was happiness. He died peacefully in his sleep, maybe even with a smile on his face. It's sad when someone so young passes, but it helps to remember the good.

I loved his music and his style of singing. I think it is a great loss to the music community. I would like to send my condolences to the family.

his daughter was on that MTV show "Sweet Sixteen".
yeah its sad but it looks like he really didnt take care of himself.
