I understand there are web sites which explore the conspiracy theory. Alledgedly our government has made secret plans to merge the USA, Canada and Mexico as 1 single country, totally relinquishing all borders.

It's a myth... a merge is more likely with Mexico but never with Canada. They wouldn't allow it.

I am a born and raised in Canada citizen. However, my father is American from the South! I love both Canada and the US. Having said that, it will never happen! Harper is already skating on thin ice. Most recent he broke a promise that effected our elderly and their pensions.

Further this was tried in the Mulroney era, which only served for Canadians to go to the polls and oust out the Conservatives. They only won four seats and the person replacing Mulroney, Kim Campbell did not even win her seat. From that year on, the Conservatives did not get back into power until this year's election! and only with a minority government!

If Harper and the Conservatives were to try this move, I could guarentee you that that Bloc Quebecois, the NDP and the Liberals as well as the Green Party would merge and vote in unision that they had no confidence in the government. This would overthrow the government, Canadians would go back to the polls and guess what the Conservatives would be handed another bashing and butt whipping in a major loss! Only this time they would not get four seats it would be less. Then the Conservatives would assure their political funeral, becuase Canadians would not ever vote them back into power. Also there would have to be a referendum where I would venture to say Canadians would vote no to merge as one nation. WE love Canada just as much as you love America!

Now don't get me wrong Canadians love Americans and at lest 80 percent of us have American family born and raised in the states, but America is America and you are a great nation and equally Canada is Canada and we are a great nation. In reality Canadians and Americans love each other! We don't always get along or agree with each other, but when it comes down to it, we are there for each other and we love each other. Last, Canada is still in some way under the British Throne!

Love you America, and love the fact you voted out the Cons! In Canada we have our own problems with our Prime Minister, he is not as well liked as when he started and is slowly gaining apathy, and contempt from Canadians. He is becoming very unpopular in Canada. I wouldn't count on the Conservatives getting back in if they keep this up! In Reality Steven Harper has done absolutley nothing! so far for Canadians except talk a good game and plan and break promises!

I think what is going on is that the US and Canadian government is trying to repair their relationship by negotiation. Which they should do! Both Government acted like total jerks in the past and in the wake of 9/11. Remember both countries people never thought ill or badly of each other, it was the stupidity of both our governments who are to blame for their falling relationship not American people and not Canadian people.

Those proposals are not so secret... they talked about it on CNN a week or so ago. It wasn't a merging of countries, but it was certainly a proposal to eliminate the borders for completely open commerce and movement of people between the three countries. This was a proposal by president Bush in response to the whole broken borders issue. I believe he thought he wouldn't have to deal with border and immigration issues if he just did away with the borders.

Of course, that went over about as good as putting a muslim nation in charge of our port security.

It's a new day and the merging of the three countries will not be obtained. We just voted on how we feel about the former GOP. I would hope they are not that dense. America and Canada and even Mexico love their own id's as unique and seperate.

This is a lie, simply because there are too many differences between the united states and canada.

Canadians like being called Canadians, Americans like being called Americans.

There are too many differences in the american and canadian government to combine the countries.

I comprehend your frustration with the elections in Iran. yet, did not the polls point out a huge win for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? I nonetheless haven't any clean view of what's quite occurring in Iran on the instant. At this element in time this is not solid to have faith the information too lots. I easily does not look to america of a for democracy in Iran. They killed the democratic pass in 1953 alongside with the united kingdom. They imposed the Shah of Iran who have been in exile in lots a similar way as they imposed Saddam upon Iraq who grew to become into additionally further back from exile and grew to become right into a CIA asset. So, i think it appropriate for all that the U. S. saved out of Iranian affairs. bear in innovations that President Reagan in the 1980's created the invasion of Iran by ability of Iraq and knowledgeable, armed, gave secret agent satellite tv for pc documents to Saddam and, somewhat probably, offered the poison gasoline and transport platforms to Saddam that killed 3,000 Iranian squaddies protecting Iran on Iranian soil. So, please, do not look to the U. S. for democracy. they have yet to establish a actual democracy of their fatherland and have destroyed many in a foreign country.

I've heard of it, but there is no way we are going to let some peice of crap third world country and their problems join the US. I'd rather have the Canadian provinces, minus Quebec, join the US.
