The oil's gonna run out real soon and when it's gone, it's gone forever. The time is now to wake up and smell the lack of exhaust.

Absolutely! If I could find enough places to recharge when I needed, at a reasonable rate. People would find that the accident rate would also reduce, trickling down to lower insurance rates, etc.

The only problem is the freight haulers. It would take longer to move products around, since they have done away with a lot of the RR lines. RR's need to be replaced with electric lines which means reclaiming the land back (Good Luck!).

But the main problem is, you need some kind of fuel to make electricity if you don't have a hydro-electric source near. What do you use then?

Guess what generates the electricity to recharge those batteries every night? Ask your local power provider. But odds are it's nat gas, oil, coal, hydro or nuclear.
