we have an indoor stadium here in australia. it gets used for one dayers but players complain about the removal of natural conditions used for bowling especially. the wind, etc is a vital part of cricket. also, it cannot be used for test matches because you cannot see a red test match ball under lights. its why the one day ball is white. it also costs too much.

There may be some sound technical reason for it. Otherwise, the cricket administrators would have very well thought about it as substantial money is lost due to abandonment/wash out of the play due to rain.

The simple answer to that is it costs huge amounts of money to build an enclosed stadium. Plus the grass and the pitch do not last.
