Only feed them as much as they can eat in 2 or 3 minutes twice a day like you are doing. I like feeding them sinking pellets like Omega One better then flakes. Any food that floats on the surface causes the fish to suck in air with the food and can cause them to have a problems with their swim bladder.

Goldfish are the pigs of the fish world and will always, always, always act hungry. Don't believe them! Feed twice a day as much as the will eat in about 2-3 minutes (NOT an hour!). Remove any uneaten food. Most people feed too much out of a mistaken sense of kindness and it's the #1 killer of fish. It's better to underfeed slightly than to overfeed. Also, if you are going away for the weekend, don't worry about feeding them; they will be fine. Those weekend feeder blocks they sell at the stores are not necessary and could be harmful by overfeeding. If you are going away for a longer period, be careful of choosing a friend who will kill your fish with kindness! Warn them of your fishies begging!

Ignore huggywell as that advice is a slow death for goldfish. I suspect you should be feeding less food. Gold fish will happily eat themselves to death.

See Nunya's answer, and link for details on feeding. That said I personally think twice a day too much.

feed them flakes but sink the flakes by soaking it first because fancy goldfish that continuously takes in air with food will develop problems in the swimming bladder

Feed what they will eat within a couple of hours, more than that will just make the tank dirty. My mollies are fed twice daily too and they are like piranhas that havnt been fed for a week every time! lol. I only have to go to the front of the tank for them to swim up and wait for the food. If your fish are growing and look healthy then they are getting enough food. Dont worry ....:D
