i would like to cut in half to make a 3 by 24 by 82

use an electric carving knife, or call a local upholstery shop who can cut it for you. Soft foam is easier to cut than styrofoam. Pros use a special heated knife, but that's too expensive for one cut.

you can deeply score the cut with a utility knike and snap it off, placing the cut line along a straight edge of a table, etc. Although 6 inches thick is pretty thick to do this way, you will end up with not the smoothest cut.

just take a 2x6 or 2x8 or small piece of plywood and after marking ur cut line, place the wood on the edge of the foam and compress it with ur knee and then use a utility knife and it will cut right thru it....if its styro foam just use a regular and saw and rip it .....

After marking your cut line with a pen cut it with a serated bread knife. Works like a charm!
