If you are in school, have the nurse call her in for a look.
I really don't know how she couldn't know though.

Maybe you could pretend to play around with her hair and pull out a hair that has an egg on it and ask ker what it is...

It is a touchy subject, someone might get offended thinking you think they were unclen, but it needs to get taken care of.
Good luck.

See the thing about being friends is being able to tell each other the truth even if it is a touchy subject, be kind about what you say and do it in private, try not to make a big deal about it or she might feel really bad, look into products you can get so that when you do tell her you can suggest something for her to use...

i mean it's only lice, anyone with children will tell you it's is very common!

Sorry, I'm a guy but I have a good answer for you.
Ask her if she would accompany you to the clinic (whatever) as a friend because you think that you have lice and you want to be checked out.
If she goes with you, while waiting to go in you can say something like, "You're around me a lot and if I have lice you might have gotten them from me so why don't you get checked out too."

Tell the nurse to check heads so you won't have to tell her. It doesn't mean she is a bad person if she has them.

If she has lice she has to get rid of them. It doesn't mean she is dirty. It doesn't care who you are. They prefer clean hair actually. She has to treat her linens and carpet, even stuffed animals.

Head lice are usually found in hair, most often on the nape of the neck and behind the ears. Head lice infestation (pediculosis) is common in preschool and elementary school–age children. Adults can be affected, especially if they live in a household with children.Head lice may not cause any symptoms early in the infestation. Itching on the scalp may develop weeks or even months after lice have infested the person. Scratching infested areas can make the skin raw. The raw skin may weep clear fluid or crust over, and it may become infected.
How is it treated?

Lice and their eggs (nits) must be destroyed to get rid of an infestation. The most common treatment is a topical nonprescription or prescription cream, lotion, or shampoo to kill the lice and eggs. Sometimes a second treatment is needed to make sure that all the eggs are destroyed. When two or more topical treatments have failed to get rid of the lice, a prescription pill called ivermectin can be taken.

A new type of hair sealant that kills head lice by suffocating them is currently under medical review.

Some people have a lingering allergic reaction to lice bites that causes itching for 7 to 10 days after the lice and nits have been destroyed. Corticosteroid creams or calamine lotion may be used to relieve the itching. In the case of severe itching, oral antihistamines may be used.

Frequent scratching can cause a skin infection. In the most severe cases of head lice, hair may fall out, and the skin may darken in the areas infested with lice.

I have heard that mayonase suffocates them. You have to wash all bed linens in hot water and stuffed animals. There is a spray you can get to spray carpet.

she probably won't be mad! She'll probably be thankful. How do you know she has lice anyway? Unless you were checking her head, they really aren't that visible unless your looking for them. And if you were close enough to know she has them.. you better get checked too! just to be safe. Lice is a pain in the a*s, but better to learn you have it earlier then later! Good Luck!

#1 - If she is really your friend - you'll tell her and let her know about the shampoos that ae out there to help the problem.
#2 - If you're around her - YOU can possibly have the lice get on you. So the two of you AND your sister will also have lice.

Either tell her and help her or avoid her.

If she has cool parents, tell one of her parents. They can take her to the doc and just make sure. If she has lice, the whole family have to wash all bedding and clothes. I don't like the idea of telling the school nurse, if you are good friends. You don't want to humiliate her in school. Plus, what if you are wrong.

You need to tell her because if it goes untreated it could get really really bad and she also can give it to other people, she needs to know to get it treated!! Im sure she knows that she has it because her head is itching off, dont worry whether or not she will be mad, just think you have done the right thing and if she is really your friend she will not get mad.

Dont sweat it, if your friend has lice you should tell her. It would be best to hear it from her own friend than someone whos going to tell her harshly. Just tell her but dont be all grossed out about it. She really should know.

when you and her are out,,go buy some lice treatment and if she asks what you are buying that for,,tell her you have lice,,no,you dont know where they are from but as they are nothing to be ashamed of you are just going to put this lotion on and get rid of them,,or you could just tell her she has them and give her some you 'just happened to have' lying around from when you had them.
