even if you build the walls off-site they must be set on a curb or block foundation.experience has shown the tilt up method is best.stake down your boarder frame throw sand on the ground,throw rocks.have cement delivered wet to the form and use excess for the footing.use a forklift or jack to drop wall into footing,form corners,ad roofing.with thinner sections you may overcome delivery problems.forklift Assembly has great potential as well as staggered wall section placements.

The Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company (Ohio) constructed housing for their workers beginning c. 1918. One of the communities, Blackburn Plat, was constructed of precast concrete. This was the first residential use of precast concrete. You should be able to get information from the archives of the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor. Also, Dr. Donna DeBlasio, Youngstown State University prof and Director of YSU's Center for Historic Preservation, has written about Blackburn Plat, including writing the nomination that got it on the National Register of Historic Places.
