What an interesting question. If you do the research and find the answer to this, you would be a candidate for the next Nobel prize in medicine.

I had one, but am not Asian or of asian ancestry, my college roommate had one also, she is likewise WASP like me. Wonder if there are environmental factors. How odd would it be that two roommates later go on to have molar pregnancies? There is much not known about this subject.

The literature indicates it is only increased in frequency in people of oriental ancestry living IN Asia, and oriental women who live in the US are at the same risk as the remainder of the population.
