It's a longstanding pattern of sexism in assigning labels.
Bachelor vs. Old Maid or Spinster
Man about Town vs. Loose Woman
Gigolo vs. Ho
Player or Stud vs. Easy, Sl*ut or Skank
IT'S REVOLTING. People should think about what they say, and the messages it sends to the people around them - especially their sisters, little brothers, girlfriends, wives, nieces, daughters, sons, etc. when they hear you use these kinds of sexist terms.
And why are Men referred to as 'Guys' while women are very often called 'Girls' by men (as if we're still children)? It's insidious sexism.

Well, it's all about the culture you are in. Guys call girls hoes because they have very fragile egos and get very aggressive and defensive when a girl is more sexually promiscuous. This is because they cannot stand the fact that they don't "own" and "control" the females around them. And that another male might be doing it better.
Girls who put up with guys who are "players" are just insecure and put up with bullshit to get affection.
Guys have a good sense of mateship. They don't put down their mates or other guys because they are getting some. Girls, however aren't so forgiving with eachother.
Ultimately, I think its because girls can get it whenever they want.
Don't worry though. Just lose the people in your life that are narrowminded and insecure and sleep with whoever you want.

Sometimes guys are referred as a ho or players. Heck I have been called a ho and I haven't gotten the action. It all depends upon the context. Some people do prostitute themselves, I haven't.

It's another double stardard in this world but there's men whores and female playas out there too now.
