Although it matched Love is a Battlefield's success on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #5, it made the #3 spot on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, where "Love is a Battlefield" had reached the top spot. The song also made the top 40 of Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. The song was partly written by songwriting team Lowen and Navarro (the latter, Dan Navarro, is a cousin of Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction fame).
