remain calm.lock all other pets up in a room youn know hamster is not in.it is very likely he is still alive.dont look 4 him during the day.wait till it is dark.then put his cage with all his favorite treats inside on the floor towards the wall.they wont go through the middle of the room.if you think you know the room wher e he is.then put food and cage in it.sprinle flour on the floor to see his footprints.dont give up after a week, just keep the cage, treats, food on the floor put food pellets around the walls of every room, look in a dimly lit room at night. good luck.i hope you wll find your buddy.

I have a hamster hes not even 1 yet es never ran out so I dont have this problem but if he did run out of his cage then I would look in corners under furniture and if there is no food on the floor take his food dish and fill it stand by it and your hamster might come when he gets hungy and can smell the food.

I have had the same problem, many years ago when I was a child. Get a humane mousetrap and set that with hamster food and you may be lucky enough to catch it. Mine was mssing 3 days before I caught it, hungry but none the worse for wear.

If you haven't a cat then look under the furniture behind the fridge..the little tinkers can go AWOL for days....make sure no food is lying around so eventually you can lure him back for a feed...
P.S. My sons hamster was a Houdini and would often escape for a couple of days at time..hunger always brought him back to his cage.

Chances are you will find him alive mine could live outside his cage few a good few days. they always manage to find food and warmth somewhere. To catch him tho try using a humane mouse trap the kind with the trap door put his favourite food inside and leave it out on the floor at night also make sure you leave his cage open sometimes they return to thier cages on their own

More than likely, you will find him alive somewhere there is a food source in the next day or two. One we had when I was a kid would get away, and eventually we would find him in the bread drawer - eating & living halfway through a loaf of bread!

you might I had one that got out and lived in the house roaming around and never saw him for 2 months and we also had a cat. My mom open the kitchen cabinet one day and the hamster had a nest between 2 seldom pans that didn't fit flush together.

well...keep trying, has he/she had a favorite spot to go when you were holding he/she? Try looking there! If not try 2nd then 3rd and work your way around the house. If you don't know if he is alive or not, nature works it ways and no one can do anything about it.

sure he could be alive. Just be careful when you pick something up or step on something..it may be in it.
put his cage down on the floor....if the door is low enough.
He would be curled up in something warm and sleeping....they always sleep.
