Because it's a culture thing. That has been that way ever since, that you have to wait for the guy to make the first move, blahblah... Though it's already a modern age now. And I can see that some girls are no longer afraid to initiate the first move. I don't think that's a bad idea. As for myself, I like the traditional way because it excites me much, much more. =)

I'm a man, but in my experience men make the first move because they are expected to do it, that's not to say its right but its also because women are just as afraid of rejection as guys are if your a empowered women that wants what you want and goes out and gets it then why should making a move on a guy be any different.
Women are scared.

I want to be swept off my feet!
In an IDEAL situation, the spark is started by both. The first initial look, or 'checkin out' eye contact. The first exchange of words may not always be started by the man. It's a series of steps, back and forth like tennis. Each move encouraging to the next step. It can be quite thrilling.
A reason a woman would not make the first move is that maybe she's not attracted to you or is uncertain if you are a good match or feel there may be lacking chemistry. Or maybe sense that you are not attracted to her. Or is just plain shy.

i guess it is a different day an age we live in. times have changed from the values i was given as a young girl showing interest in guys. i am still the old fashion way in believing. where the guy should ask the lady out. the guys place to call the lady ect..
this was beat down under my skin so bad as a young girl , that i today am still old fashion in the values my mother taught me. this follows right into the bedroom , where the man should make the first move as well.

I personally like the old fashion way of dating. If a guy likes me, I expect to be respected and "courted" in the proper way. It's just that much more special to know that the guy is that interested in me that he would make the first move to obtain a relationship with me.

Why? I don't know if I want them to. I have no problem with suggesting my interest or kissing first. I think men, feel they have to make the first move. Have you waited to see if a women, would make it first? or do you feel it is excepted?

Because the ones that have come to me have been good healthy relationships. When i have made the first move it's been disastrous.
