Eventually, the erosive power of the water will destroy this waterfall, as all falls eventually destroy themselves. However, Angel Falls is eroding less quickly than some larger but less tall falls because "water flow is small and the water is dispersed to a fine mist during its descent."

I can't imagine that erosion of the falls would happen quickly enough to affect the tourist industry or local villages. More likely, the tourist industry is affecting the local economy--which causes different kinds of changes. I don't think you were asking about these.

I found no mention of recent changes in water volume of the river feeding the falls, but I did not do a super extensive web search.
