Because some states that arent exactly north for some insane reason are listed as one of the northern states/, I tried a map but then I got mixed answers.

Michigan today our high is 38, great place to spend your summers. They are saying we will have 80" of snow this year.

Draw a line across the US east to west and most every one of the states above that line experiences very cold wet weather in season and for a duration. not off and on..You can bet just about every thing above the mason dixon and east of the Mississippi river is COLD. with a few exceptions (duration wise) Good Luck...
