I think its bad because his numbers haveing been going down since last year and he gets injured every year!!!!!! I think we could of picked up another young CF who could dive for the ball like Edmonds can do but besides getting hurt.

It's Great, any team would like to have a 6-time Gold Glover in center-field.Plus he bashes 30 home-runs every year, drives in about a 100 runs.He is a rock in the dugout and on the field.
I think its GREAT the Birds on the Bat signed him to 2 more years.

Yes, he's had injury problems and his numbers the past two seasons haven't been outstanding but he still is one of the best defensive CF's in the game and that still makes him a valuable asset.
Plus, there wasn't really much else out there in terms of CF's, I like this two year contract because Edmonds is a great CF, he can come through at the plate and he's a fan favorite, and the Cardinals wanna see him retire with the Birds on the Bat.
And yeah, he does have a bit of "Hollywood" in him, but I like a centerfielder with an attitude. He plays way in more than most CF's and dares you to hit out there, he'll take away the bloop singles and can catch up to the deep balls. And if another team can't stand him cos he seems cocky, awesome, let it get in their head.

Considering the contract he got - it gave a lot of hope to other free agents out there that they can really get the BIG BUCKS. At one time Edmonds was worth it - but not now. The Cardinals should have let him walk and worked out a trade with the Braves for Andruw Jones. You have to like Edmonds though, he's a good leader in the clubhouse and plays hurt a lot - gutsy player. If he wants to be when his playing days are over, he should make a good manager.

It's really pretty simple. The Cardinals are looking to solidify their defense in the outfield. With the outfield that they've trotted out there this year, I'm sure that keeping their best defensive player was a high priority.

Was there any other option for The Cards?

I dont follow St Louis that closely, but it looks like a good deal to me.

I see St Louis winning 100 games next year, and this time The Tigers will get thier revenge!!!!!!
