As visible through the "My Computer/ Properties" and as visble through the POST ?

256 is what is showing

There is a total of 256 MB. But since the graphics "card" is on the motherboard, the RAM you have available will be 256 minus the amount used for graphics.

Thus, if you are using 32 MB for graphics, the available RAM will show as 224 MB
