No pills for sleep are absolutely safe, but there are some more safe than others. You need to check with your doctor for this answer. Do what he tells you and only what he tells you. Ask about the drug, Sinequan. It's not habit-forming and old, which has given it a good track record. I take it at bedtime. Good luck sleeping.

Melatonin is the safest natural sleep remedy, medically speaking. No studies have ever shown adverse side effects from taking small doses of melatonin every day over the course of several weeks. It gently raises seratonin levels in the body, causing your body's internal day/night sense to regulate itself.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Instead of pills, cut out caffeine--totally. You may sleep great once you get over the caffeine addiction.

Have you tried a Borion product called Quietude?
It's non addictive and works by gently calming your mind (not making you sleepy).
You should go to see a doctor first though.
