As to their competitive ability, I have yet to see any one comment on the fact that as a common opponent (Illinois) Rutgers destroyed the Illini while Ohio State barely beat them by 7.

I`m a huge Rutgers fan- have been for years- and even I know what reality is..... On a year in-year out schedule The Scarlet Knights are just plain playing really well right now. As to a schedule against "top tier one" teams, they would more than have their hands full. But since that isn`t the question, my answer is "no" they aren`t the best, but they sure are having a great year and we`re having fun watching them win. GO RUTGERS!!!!

Ok JC(tea)bags. if you wanna play that game. your marvelous scarlet knights barely....barely got past south florida. south florida was crushed by cincinnati. The Ohio State University demolished cincinnati. so what now??????? The fact remains that Rutgers just doesn't play a tough schedule. they've done good so far, but lets see how they do against west virginia. if they beat the mountaineers than they do deserve a spot in the top five.....maybe. Illinois was just a practice game for the bucks getting ready for meechigan. sure, they only won by 7, but if you watched the game (I was there) it was never close. I will give Rutgers props if they win out, but we'll have to see who they play in their bowl and how they actually do against a non big least opponent. until then, don't play the common opponent game, and don't put them on the same level as my buckeyes :)

No, not yet, although I'm pulling for this program. What Schiano and company has done is remarkable, and if they win the remainder of their games, including at West Virginia - a credible case can be made for them to be #2, behind the OSU-Michigan winner.

Go, Knights!

well they're starting to make a name for themselves now the trick is continuity if they keep winning year in and year out then they will be talked about more and more and maybe even mentioned more often for the national championship picture

NO
bad out of conference schedule
the big east isnt good cuz all they do is beat eachother.
any team in the top 10 would kill them maybe top 15.

they are in the top three but they won't get credit because of their name unless they win out and they say then there is a slim chance they will be in the national championship game if OSU beats Michigan.

The best sorry but I would have a hard time putting them there, although I think they deserve more respect then they get.
