All sorts, it is almost invetable that the universe MUST be teeming with life.
Billions of planets, millions with life. Possibly billions with life

There are potentially millions of planets out there that support life. All those planets are at various stages of "development".

Some of those planets may just be starting to support life and may only have microbial life. On the other some of those planets have "intelligent" civilizations that may be thousands or millions of years more technically advanced and more intelligent than us.

One thing is for sure that our civilization's IQ probably ranks very very lowly compared to the intelligence out there.

There are literally billions of billions of stars out there. Even if only 1% of them had planets, and if only 1% of those planets had the ability to hold life... that leaves the chance for millions and millions of other places that life can exist. Given the sheer number of different types of life on Earth alone, I find it impossible to believe that we are all thats out there.

Is it microbial or intelligent? That all depends on which planet you find. I would have to assume there are planets in all stages of evolution from having only single celled organisms to pre-historic style, to matching our own civilization, to some that could possibly be more advanced than we are.
