I am trying to find out why a Bidet is such a common fixture in the Europe. Have they considered alternatives like toilet papers ? Or is it just a cultural thing? I understand the concept of hygiene but are there some other reasons ?

Bidet is not successful in all Europe. I traveled in many European countries but I found bidet only in some big hotels. Only in Italy you can find it in each house.

It is not used instead of toilet paper. You use first toilet paper and then bidet. Using bidet you can clean a lot better, and it is comfortable particularly for women during periods.

I'm Italian and when I travel outside Italy I find it very uncomfortable not to be able to wash myself each time I use toilet. Often I wonder why bidet is not used in other countries.

'Have they considered toilet paper an alternative'? You've got to be kidding me. While Americans are wondering why Europeans don't use toilet paper, Europeans are wondering why Americans don't consider a bidet as an 'alternative'.

Trust me, a bidet is a MUCH cleaner option of cleaning yourself in the bathroom. Can't go wrong with washing a bottom. Toilet paper can only do so much.

You will also find Bidets in finer hotels in our larger cities in the US. It is just another status symbol of a much older culture than ours and charming to those lucky enough to experience this little nicity! We may have comfortable toilet paper..but there is also a charm in a clean bottom and experiencing old world culture!

The Effectiveness of Socialism is all approximately scale. the main valuable socialism's are the Indians, The Amish, Pigmies, Ect little bitty tribes and clans. those paintings however the bigger it is the extra issues creep up whilst they attempt to enforce initiatives on super scales. it constantly leads to a pair style of Iron fist type totalitarianism Like China or the U.S.. maximum ecu countries that have a valuable socialism the place the certainly everyone seems to be happy additionally don't have 'super' populations.

I find so stupid that people could even wonder why bidet exists!!!!
Just to be clean after having be to the toilet.
It is more reasonable to ask themselves why other countries don't have it.
WE, Italian people, are clean people.....and the other one??????
