If it is from CD copies you may need to do it manually, this is also the case where you save music files to your PC via sites like Limewire etc.
If it is neither of these and continues to be a problem go to Apples site and click upgrade iTunes this will fix the softwear and leave your existing library intact.

Make sure your internet connection is good for iTunes to automatically fill in song info. If it is just not recognizing your songs you may have to manually enter the names of the songs. I had to do this with some songs I uploaded that were on mix cds some friends have made me.

That's not much info.is it all song names?you can type in names yourself .
