Okay, I'm writing a Yuri (girl x girl) fanfiction and I need help on how to adress people. Is it right, for the younger girl (18) to adress the older women (26) with Midori-chan?
I'm not sure, because I've always read that '-chan' is only used for little kids, but does it make a difference if they're lovers? =(

Yes. An 18 year old girl can call a 26 year old woman with "chan." I'm Japanese and call my cousin who is 12 years older than me Reiko-chan. Calling the senior with "chan" means showing intimacy to them.

If the girl in your fiction calls the older woman Midori-san, instead of Midori-chan, we the Japanese readers will assume that Midori is more a dominant person while the girl is submissive in their relationship. I mean we assume Midori must be taking on a male role both in and out of ......

Since it is a custom in Japan to respect those older than you, it is best to use the name Midori-san. However, Midori-san can be allowed to address the younger girl with -chan. Usually in Yuri manga and anime, the younger one falls in love with the older one because she admires her (the way a woman admires at her man) and address her with -san. In some cases, however, the younger girl may call the older woman with -chan if the older woman allows it.
