+2x and -2X cancel and 5 and 2 combine so the equation is
x2 + 7=0 subratct 7 from both sides
x2=-7
if you haven't learned what imaginary numbers are the answer is no solution but if u have keep reading
x= square root of +or- 7 * the square root of -1.
simplify to + or - i square root of 7

REMEMBER FOR SOLVING ALL EQUATIONS WHAT YOU DO TO ONE SIDE YOUMUST DO TO THE OTHER

first combine like terms... so x^2+7

subtract 7 from both sides...so -7=x^2

take the square root of both sides... (square root of) -7=x

x is an imaginary number of +or- (square root of)7

if x2 is xpower 2, then the value of x is square root of - 7,

Otherwise, the previous answers given, x=-3.5 is good

0=x2+7
-7+0=x2
x=0-7/2
