At 28, isn't it time you started to grow up and think about something other than games consoles? Jeez.

There's never an age where it's too old to play videogames. :) I'm only 4 years younger than you and I own a DS, and I can quite honestly say it's the best system I've had in a long time. I think if you really enjoyed nintendo games like Super Mario and Mario Kart you'll like the DS because both games are available for the system with some added things that don't take away from the original games. The system isn't too pricey, I see them now for around $100-$130 and games range everywhere from $10 to around $50. It's also nice how portable it is, you can take it pretty much anywhere and play even if you only have about 10 minutes. You can connect through WiFi with some games to play with others and when you first turn it on it has a PDA-style clock which I personally found rather neat. And despite it's small size it's pretty comfortable to play for an extended time.
I don't have much experience with the PS2, but I didn't stick with it for long myself because I didn't like the game styles or the controller.

You would love the DS!! I'm 51 and my wife is 43 and we BOTH have one! You answered your own question really. The style of games on the DS are different than on the PS2. We have the PS2 as well and since I got the DS I don't even bother wth the PS2 anymore! The DS is great if you like the Mario-type games. But I would also recommend Brain Age and Brain Age Academy!!! These are games featuring brain building tests that are really alot of fun. The Brain Age games alone are worth buying the DS for. You will also want to get Clubhouse Games for it because it's a great collection of card games, chess, checkers, and backgammon all on one card! Atari Retro is another good collection for it. Do not buy a PSP if you don't like the PS2! The games are the same style. Go for the DS! You'll love it! YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD!!!!!!

wel im not here to start making comments on your age so il give you my personal opinion. Me and my boyfriend bought a ds between us and i just love marios bros and mario kart. I have also just finally finished resident evil deadly silence which was a really good game, however now i am stuck on what to buy next because all the games simply are for little kids, like madagascar and pokemon. Although there are some classics perhaps you should buy something that have these classics and a wider range of games too.

Theres nothing wrong with playing games as you get older. Remember, you can only live life once so might as well make the best of it. You should invest in the new Wii thats coming out. Cool!!!

Go Blu-ray. The graphics are much better, but at up to £400 or $1000 (this christmas alone) it is a bit too expensive, so wait a bit. (Unless you want to spend that much.) All the reviews rave the superior graphics of the new Blu-ray devices which are more superior than HDDVD's.
