Corporations pay 13% of taxes. Americans pay the other 87%.
Is there something wrong when Exxon-Mobil is reporting quarter after quarter of record profits while we pay more for gasoline than ever in the history of our country? Should IBM be laying-off Americans while hiring overseas workers? Do CEO's deserve to make millions each year when American wages are either stagnant or falling? Being competative is fine. Searching the globe for the cheapest labor while laying-off Americans in search of more profit is immoral. That's my opinion.

That's my opinion, too. I'm sick to death of calling Customer Service Departments of companies based in the U.S. for technical support etc.and talking to someone in India who's trying to pass themselves off as American (when I can hardly understand them). Ronald Reagan is dead and gone and the powers that be are still using Trickle Down Economics: let the filthy rich get richer and they'll be able to provide jobs for the peons. At least Reagan meant American jobs.

Of course not. But your definition of corporate welfare is entirely wrong.

1 - It does not matter how much you hate corporations -- they do not pay taxes. You can have a poster of Michael Moore on your wall, your hero can be Barbra Steisand, and you can have a bumper sticker that says "I Love Stalin" - It will not change the fact that every single penny a corporation pays in taxes comes from you the consumer. They simply cannot get the money anywhere else. They collect form you and the cash register and pass part of it to the government. It is a hidden tax and increase in price of everything you buy. That is just the way it is.

2 - We pay more for milk, carpet, cars, & perfume than at any time in our history. Why is it fair to single out one industry that has historically kept the price of their product very low. Oil is the largest selling product on the planet, escpecially since China and India are growing. They are going to make money whether we like it or not.

3 - How low have we sunk in America if our dream job of sewing stitches in someone else's underwear is now being done by someone who is poorer than anybody in America. That should embarrass us that they have the same job skills as us Americans. That is what the overwhelming majority of outsourcing is, not high paying jobs.

4 - Studies have shown that companies who outsource eventually produce more jobs in the US. The cost saving translate into more research and development and hiring in America. I know you will never see that on TV.

5 - If you want to blame stagnant wages, why don't you point the finger at that atrocious education system we have it many places. It is government owned, governemnt run and has handed out diplomas for 20 years that are not worth the paper they are printed on. Of course these people will end up unskilled and poor. If you owned a business, you would not want to pay higher wages to someone who was incapable.

These CEO`s Are motivated by GREED! They do not care about anyone but themselves. Sad but true. They would rather outsource American jobs than give up one penny out of there pocket.
