Well...i dont agree with you that Tool fans have any better perseption of music due to its complexity.
But i do say i saw Tool in Frisco on a new years eve at the Warfield, and it left a smoking crater of my mind for days afterward.
Tool simply rocks....all a style in itself.

An astute listener is one who can see teh merit and effort gone in to any music...not just tool. Yes, many tool fans are astute but many are not. An astute listener will like many forms of music and will not judge an artists skills based on whether or not they like the music they play. For the record. TOOL ROCKS!

it's possible, atleast they like music with some substance. unlike all the pop crap where they have to make up words to start trends that make people think they are cool.
